Our bands include:
The
Spirit of McIntosh Marching Band, Four Concert
Bands (Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic
Band) several instrumental choirs, ensembles, jazz bands, pep bands,
and winter guard.
 Our Marching Band show and plans
for the coming season will be announced in the spring. Interested
incoming students will be asked to attend an after school practice or
two so they can learn a few basic marching techniques and meet their
upper-classmen.
Marching Band Camp in 2010 will be July 17-July 28th. All students
who intend to march are required to attend marching band camp. This is
when the students and parents do the most work preparing the fall show
so it is important that all members be present. Additional one
day summer practices may be scheduled as well. After school practices
will be held on alternating Mondays, every Tuesday and every Thursday
through October. Two or three additional Saturday practices are also
scheduled. The schedule may vary slightly from one year to the next
depending on the requirements of the show and the needs of the students.
Our marching band performs at all varsity football games on Friday
evenings and attends three competitions on Saturdays in October.
Additionally, there is a county-wide marching band competition, usually
held on a Saturday in late September. Marching band season is busy, but
also a LOT of fun!
The concert bands meet daily and students audition to be placed
into a group based on their ability. Concert Band auditions for the
2010-2011 school year will were held on April 17, 2010. Students who are interested in joining
