The MHS Band Boosters provides continuous fundraising activities. If you
take advantage of the opportunities, fundraising events can
cover 100% of your band commitments and other band related expenses.
Fundraising events are available for ALL concert and marching band
students and color guard.
Each student has a student account set up with our band boosters.
Any money earned through fundraisers, parent-paid fees and donations
made to that student will go into this account. The money is used for
participation fees, trip/travel expenses, private lessons, and equipment
purchases for that specific student. There are fundraisers where all
the money goes into the student’s account and some where a portion will
go into the band general fund for instructional expenses, equipment
purchases, maintenance, etc.
Many families have paid for their entire band fee using fundraising
alone.

REVISED DISCOUNT CARD PROCEDURE
We have reviewed the new discount card process for this year and have
found that it is not working in the best interest of our band students.
With the tougher economic times we are finding that it is a burden for
families to pay for their discount cards upfront, so we are revising the
process. The discount card sale is meant to be a fundraiser for the
students and it is not working in that capacity. Therefore, we will
return to the former process of letting students pick up discount cards
and then turn in the payment once they have sold the cards. We are,
however, maintaining the policy that the cards cannot be returned, so
please only get the number of cards you can reasonably sell. There is
no minimum number of cards required, so feel free to get only 1 card or
as many as 10 cards. You may then come back for more if you sell out.
The cards sell for $10 and the money from the sale of the cards will be
distributed as follows: $2.50 to pay for the card, $2.50 to MHS Band
Booster general fund and $5 to your students account. This is a great
fundraiser and we encourage our band students to participate.
If you would like to sell discount cards this year, please contact Susan Whitehurst at hskhw@bellsouth.net
to reserve your cards. Susan will be at MHS on Tuesday, August 31 at
7:00pm after marching band practice. Jane Keen will have discount cards
available in the band room for a short time after the open house on
Thursday, September 2. If you are unable to pick up cards at either
of these times, please contact Susan at hskhw@bellsouth.net or Jane at peachtreekeens@mindspring.com and set up a time to get your cards.

New Kroger
Fundraising Program
Since the Scrip fundraiser does not include grocery
stores and Kroger has eliminated the Kroger Earning Plus Learning
Program (which earned us approximately $1,200 a year), the McIntosh Band
Booster Board is now offering a new Kroger fundraiser. Every time we
place an order with Kroger of at least $500 in gift cards, we get to
keep 5%. That's just 5 families who order $100 each per
week! I
KNOW we all spend much more than that at Kroger. If we had 20
families order $100 each week for an entire school year, the band would
net an easy $3,600. Just like Scrip, 70% of the Kroger Card Program
funds will go to the student account and 30% will go into the general
band fund. Clickhereto download an order form.
The first order will be picked up on March 26 and will be available
April 2 for pick-up.
Parents can contact Michelle DuPuis for more information at
mel67@bellsouth.net
SCRIP is substitute money. When you
purchase scrip, youre purchasing negotiable gift certificates and
prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use SCRIP to
purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials,
and with every purchase, you earn revenue for your student's account and our organization.
The profit percentage is listed next to each vendor on the order
form. 70% of the profit goes into your students account and 30% goes to
the general fund. Orders are taken once a month. Often bonus
contributions are offered. These vendors will be highlighted on the
current order form each month.

The Stadium Concession Stand generates the needed revenue to
purchase our marching uniforms. Working in our concession stand is a
popular method of earning funds for your student band account.
Concession stand workers earn $5 per
hour during home Varsity football games on Friday nights as well as
during the JV and Freshman games on Thursday afternoons. Money earned
is credited to your student's band account.

GoodSearch & GoodShop Instead of using Google, use GoodSearch to
find answers to life's burning questions. The band earns one cent for each search you do, up to
two each day. Visit GoodSearch.com, enter "McIntosh High School Band - Spirit of McIntosh" as your favorite charity and perform a couple of searches. After your curiosity has been satisfied, click through GoodShop to visit your favorite online stores like
Amazon.com, Land's End and many more.
Every Thursday, all year round, eat at the Peachtree City Mellow Mushroom from 5pm until closing and the band will receive a percentage of your dine-in or carry-out orders.
The Outsourcing Services generates extra revenue for the
band. On occasion we are offered job tasks such as completing mailings by
stuffing envelopes, assembling product information notebooks or
assembling sample packs for a fee. Workers are paid based on the amount of time
they participate.
It is through Fundraising that the Boosters continue to
maintain a quality band program, purchasing those items that are not
provided by the Fayette County Board of Education in particular musical
instruments and marching uniforms.
