The Spirit of McIntoshMarching Band is the most visible part of the band program and has a long history of success which gives its members a great sense of pride. The band supports the football team every Friday night at both home and away games, performing their marching show at half-time, and playing pep songs in the stands during the games. In addition, the marching band participates in the July 4th Independence Day Parade in Peachtree City, and in 2-3 band competitions, which usually occur in October. Members of the marching band must be enrolled at MHS in the concert band program, maintain required academic standards while marching, and submit a Marching Band Interest Form.
This years show is called "CORRIDA" The theme is bullfighting.... The music will be Carmen, El Toro Caliente and Spirit of the Bull! You can find examples on You Tube. Listen to Santa Clara Vanguard 1990 and also check out the JSU Marching Southerner's performances.
Marching Band Camp will be held this year July 17-28 . After school
practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday, beginning in August as well as several Monday afternoons.

Marching Shoes We have a couple of pairs ofshoes that are still for sale. One pair of men's
size 10 and another pair of men's size 11. If anyone wishes to buy these

Spirit of McIntoshBAND CAMP 2010
Away Camp...was
an exciting experience and the marchers did such a great job there
learning the new show! What an accomplishment!! Also their behavior was
so good that different people on the college campus told us
(chaperones) what a nice group of kids you all were! Thank
you all the parents for their generous donation of snacks and food,
helping hands, and their time to make the band camp a success.

Required Forms for Marching Band Participation
**Participation
Physical - this form has 3 parts and
is required by FCBOE:
History - to be filled out by
parent/guardian
Physical Exam - to be filled out by
physician
Clearance form- to be filled out by
physician
**Physical Cover page - if physical
performed by Resurgens
**Medication Form - for students to be administered ANY medications while at any
band related function.This includes OTC meds.All students are required to
turn in this form.
**Parental Consent form -
required by Fayette Co School system; this form is 2 pages and
requires the parent/guardian
signature in 4 places
**Asthma Action Plan - for students with asthma who carry a rescue inhaler
**Anaphylaxis Emergency Action Plan - for students with allergies who carry an epi-pen
**IMPORTANT: Your student WILL
NOT be allowed to step on the field if the above forms
are not turned in.This is a Fayette Co BOE requirement and a
severe liability for the
